American Group Construction was recommended as a good roofing contractor. When the president of the company, Isai Fonseca, sat with me and explained the details of his estimate, I felt confident that the work they would perform would be expertly done with quality materials. Their team arrived early and did a wonderful job. They were professional and very friendly. They replaced some rotten boards under the old roof. They installed new drip edge around the entire roof as well as new flashing around a skylight, plumbing vents and chimney. And they installed a new gutter cover. I am thrilled with the job and the new roof looks great! I will recommend American Group Construction to anyone who asks. -

The company replaced my shaker shingle siding with Hardie Board siding! What a difference it makes! The team was outstanding and they were meticulous and did a thorough cleanup every day!! We live in an older home in Prince William County and one section of our roof is flat. We knew when we bought the home that it would need to be replaced, but didn't know much about flat roofs. My husband and I called 3 local roofers who told us they could replace flat roofs as we always get 3 quotes for our projects. By far, American was the most prompt, courteous, and professional of the 3 companies. When I called, Isai came out the same day to look at our project. We had a professional quote sent to us later that evening. The work was done promptly and professionally. Working with them took a lot of stress off our shoulders. We plan to use them in the future for our gutter replacements as well. Great, family owned company! -

Excellent Work. Awesome Professional Service. Highly recommended. Isai, The President of the Company, explained how the roof would be replaced. On the day, Isai, Henry, the foreman, and his crew showed up early and worked until the new roof completed. During the process, photos were taken before and after. There were several bad plywoods needed to replaced (they marked and showed them to me before I agreed replaced them). In the end, both Isai and Henry conducted the final work. I am very satisfied and will use them for all of my roof works and siding as well. -

This is the 3rd time I have worked with American Group Construction. Mr. Fonseca is a business owner with a great deal of integrity. He came out twice to both data gather and then explain and present his very fair proposal to replace our roof . He is someone who is trustworthy and dependable , honest and very fair. I can not say enough positive remarks about the roofing team that came out to do the work. Each person worked very diligently throughout the day and a half that they were here to make sure that this installation was successful and professional. The first night they worked even after the sun had set to try and get as much done as possible for us. The gentleman who did the work all shared many years of experience and knowledge and as a result the roof installation was outstanding. After the work was completed , the clean up was immaculate. Throughout the job as well as at the completion of the project I was asked if there was anything else that was needed or that I wanted them to do. I was very impressed , as were my neighbors, as the roofing team worked past sunset to try and complete as much of the job as possible for us. Each member of the team had a job and each member was capable and professional in completing the work that was required. Mr. Fonseca was present not only during the proposal and contracting stage but also during the installation. He did not leave until Iwas completely satisfied with the work he and his team had done. I could not have been any more pleased as everything that was promised was delivered in a timely manner . I will defintely use American Group Construction for my next project. I have also recommended this company to co-workers , friends and neighbors. My neighbors were able to see for themselves the tremendous work that was completed as our new roof is outstanding. This team is great at providing quality customer service, professionalism and product. Throughout the process, Isai Senior and Junior kept me updated while working with State Farm. Wind knocked off a couple of long siding pieces near the top of my house. Shortly after choosing American Group Construction Mr. Fonseca called to let me know his arrival time. He was on time, very polite and did an excellent job repairing and replacing the downed pieces including another piece that tried to escape while he was there. We got 3 estimates from well-rated contractors for a full master bathroom renovation and went with SR. We got the impression we'd get the best service from them, and we chose well! Their customer service is terrific: there was great ongoing communication, quick attention to any questions or concerns we had during the process, and they worked at our project diligently and daily (weekdays) until it was completed (There were NONE of the horror stories you hear about contractors no longer showing up or getting too busy with other projects to pay attention to yours). They were also "5 star" responsive. Our project "foreman," Camilo, was terrific. Sam the owner is great and guarantees all of SR's work; but beyond that, his goal really is satisfied customers, and that is a HUGE plus with a contractor. We've been doing home renovations long enough to know that EVERY major project will have some glitches; What matters is how those glitches are handled. SR was excellent on this front, responding super fast and quickly resolving any glitch that occurred! I have never had such good customer service and ongoing communication with a contractor, and at a reasonable price! Kesenia was dedicated throughout the project to attentive regular communication with me via text and email, even though they had multiple jobs going on. She should get a medal! I am detail-oriented and do my "homework," and SR always warmly welcomed any input and concerns I had along the way, and made sure I was happy with results. A shout out to Camilo (project foreman), Saul (tile), Dennis (shower door), and Ronnie (paint, wallpaper, expert caulking) as well as Fernando (all kinds of installation skills!) --for their "extra" diligence and great attitudes. Our project is beautiful! -

As we prepared to bring our elderly parents into our home, we were looking for a contractor we could trust to help us with numerous projects (shed, basement finishing, three seasons room, two decks, privacy gate replacement, walkout shelter). Sam and his team were up to the task(s). Throughout each of the projects, Sam, Camilo, Danny, Alexa and the rest of the crew were professional, attentive to our needs, and exceeded our expectations. While awaiting closing on our new house we worked with Melissa and the team at SR to determine that the changes we wanted to make (close up an open living room with French doors to create a study and take down a pony wall separating the kitchen and family rooms) were possible and they could meet us at the house right after closing to give us a proper estimate. They committed to starting the project right away so that the work would be done before we moved in several days later. As promised, once closing day came an estimator for SR was at the house within an hour of me receiving the keys and was able to take specific measurements and pictures. A couple of hours later we had a detailed quote and agreed to move forward. They said they would be there 7am the next morning. Little did I know they would show up with a small Army to make good on their promise to have the work done before we moved in. The team moved quickly and efficiently. I exchanged numbers with the foreman so that they could easily text any questions. The team was very professional - worked diligently and most importantly they took the time to explain what they were doing and gave me options and recommendations for solutions to challenges that arose. The team consisted of many specialized skills that were brought in when needed. They did an excellent job coordinating who was needed when and made sure no time was wasted. Trim specialists were brought in to tie into the existing trim in the former living room and a hardwood flooring specialist was brought in to tie into the existing floors for where the pony wall once stood. It seemed like everyone on the team enjoyed working there and with each other and they all had direct access to the owner Sam to keep him up to speed and make sure I was happy with the work. I appreciated being able to check in with Sam a couple of times and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the solutions his team came up with. At the end of the day the team worked long days to create a much more usable house for us and meet their promise of finishing their work by the time we moved in. Their work has transformed the house for us and had made it so much more usable. As we settle in (and save up some more $$) we can't wait to have Sam and his team at SR transform other parts of the house for us!! -

I hired SR to remodel our basement. They installed laminate vinyl flooring, painted, installed ceiling fans, and updated our recessed lighting. SR was professional, responsive, and time-efficient. They completed the entire project in a week! They did an amazing job with the recessed lighting, flooring, and ceiling fans. Their painting was not at the same level of quality. I asked them to touch up the painting a couple of times, and I'm still not completely satisfied. I think certain painters are more skilled and precise than other ones working for the company. I did really appreciate them taking on other little jobs like putting together furniture. If not for the painting, I would definitely give them 5 stars for their excellent customer service -

I had SR Home Improvements paint four sets of shutters on my home. They were very easy to work with and got the job done well. They were also very responsive to questions electronically and fairly prices. Some other contractors were way over-priced for the same job. I would definitely use then again -

I might have hired this company for the wrong job. But I know for sure I would advise against hiring them for any bathroom or tiling job. Firstly, just a few months into the repair I had a minor leak in the bathroom where water very quickly leaked all the way to the ceiling below. What kind of caulking job should I expect from a licensed contractor? Definitely better than that. During the job there were a lot of misunderstandings, some that were partly due to my lack of availability, but it explains a lot when you are not able to rely on the contractor. The project manager showed up on site probably 2 times all in all, and the workers spoke little to no English. It was very difficult to deal with the team as a whole and the PM, Sam, himself had a terrible petty attitude that made everything all the more challenging. Today the caulking is so obviously poorly done, and the newly installed shower faucet diverter does not work properly; it's loose and there's always some water gushing out of the faucet even when the shower head is supposed to be running. Needless to mention the incredible mess they left behind, they did not clean up or even bother. They ruined my bathtub during tiling because they did not bother to cover it up and then Sam had the nerve to offer $150 in return of these damages to have it replaced. In what world does it cost $150 to replace a bathtub? Would they have replaced it for this much? I'm truly devastated by this job as it cost me so much money and heartache. The amount I paid would have been perfect had this company been reliable, professional, and honest. But they are not that at all. Definitely do not risk your time and money by working with them. -

I was getting my home ready to put on the market, and looking for painters. Sam and SR Home Improvement not only prepped and painted my entire townhouse for an incredibly reasonable price, but they also have been available for me to seek other smaller jobs during the home sale process. SR Home Improvement is professional, quick, and clean. All furniture and flooring was sealed off, and my home was returned to normal on their last day. I highly recommend this company! -

I initially hired SR Home Improvements to replace an old textured ceiling in my basement and they did a fantastic job. They do good high quality work at a fair price. I have since hired them for a number of other large projects and some small handyman tasks, they continue to excel at each time I hire them. They are now my go-to contractor. Highly recommended!

I had a leak in my roof and it cause my upper floor ceiling to collapse. I needed to get tarp placed on the roof in order to mitigate further damage. It was an emergency situation because the forecast called for rain the next day. When I went on Angies List to get someone American Group Construction was the first to reply. Isai was able to come out the same day and place the tarp on the roof. I was so impressed with the professionalism I wanted them to fix the roof. He was very nice and professional. He went over what needed to be done and worked with me with respect to the home insurance company. He kept in touch with me throughout the process and was on time. The work was done as scheduled and was completed on time. I was very pleased with Isai and American Group Construction. I would definitely recommend them for work. -

They had repaired a leak on my roof before, so I invited them to bid on this job. I was provided photographic evidence to justify my insurance claim for cumulative weather damage and we were able to get the work done for the amount of the insurance estimate including my copayment. Materials were delivered on a Monday and the work was completed the following day. Other service providers who have been on my roof since then have praised the quality of the work done. -
